“Pay As You Drive” Insurance ad (NU)

ntl: business required an ad on their new site design that  had sold their premium service and didn’t shift too much focus off the main content. This was created for maxim visual impact and use of the space, with subtle animation effects. Produced at Soup.

This series of banners aimed to bring some Christmas charm to the to the NU brand delivering its message in a more festive-fashion while adhering to the brads strict guidelines. Produced at Soup.

Christmas home insurance (NU)

my involvement: image art-working and keyframe flash animation.

Standard format and rich-media overlay. Due to the media buyers placement restrictions on size, this concept was delivered using stills photography art-worked and animated to create a life-like motion.

Soup’s 2007 site re-design incorporated this animation on the home page to deliver the agency’s key strengths. The hand-drawn rough style was used to reflect the creative process of scamping things out on a page.

FAN - animation festival indents

FAN animation festival (now Aurora) animated indents delivered online as microsite ‘teasers’ and finally used as stings projected between screenings at the festival itself.


These where created as part of soup’s sponsorship of the event and involved a very quick turn around.


Each indent was based on a classic film such as Hichcock’s ‘The Birds’ and ‘Jaws’. The festivals mascot clapper-board dog took a starring role in each scenario such as the shark taking out the boat.


The simple art style was used to follow the print advertising material. Produced at Soup.

A large selection of the work below was developed while working in my past role as lead animator and senior motion graphic artist at soup. These examples showcase some of my skills in animation, flash design and illustration also involving concept work, story-boarding, strategy and planning.

A Christmas promo game for soup to send out to clients. Based loosely on the classic 80’s arcade shot-em-up’s, using snowballs the player is led through one of the studios taking out soup staff to rescue clients from a powerpoint presentation in the boardroom.

As incentive for registering on the ‘trustee tutor’ site Morley gave registries a case of wine. The main challenge in this execution was to create animated wine in flash that looked convincing and refreshing without looking like blood. Produced at Soup.

Standard format, delivered in 4 sizes. Cars branded competition tie-in for a trip to Pixar animation studios.

The brief was to maximise the visual impact of the ‘Cars’ brand in the banner’s message without it appearing to endorse an RAC product in any-way. Produced at Soup.

TT Wine promotion creative (Morley)

Pixar competition ad (RAC)

This was used to publicise the announcement of ntl: and Telewest’s group merger on their corporate sites.

Brand colours were used for the cables to represent the two communication giants’ networks merging into one. Produced at Soup.
